Transplant featured a series of polychrome wall sculptures constructed from perforated bronze, aluminum, and stainless steel. Metal sheets were cut into intricate geometric and organic shapes and hand-painted or acid-etched complex patterning was applied in a bold palette. The layers were stacked together, creating an oscillating effect through juxtapositions of shapes and color combinations. Ranging in diameter from 16 to 40 inches, the works were each approximately 1 ½” thick. Floating on the supporting wall, the works gained further depth as they cast complicated shadows.
